JULY 2ND, 2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz began at 11:03 am.

Meeting began with Professor Ejaz updating our website on the Project Landing Page.

Liquid Fertilizer was brought up again (after having been forgotten), and determined it would greatly benefit the project. It will be reintegrated.

Specification Table and Timeline were reviewed. It was determined they needed to be edited to present the information better.

Due dates for Final Proposal Report and Presentation were discussed in detail. Questions were asked about format and formatting of the report.

Success Criteria for Design must be made by next week.

Meeting ended at 12:03 pm.

Meetings were cancelled this week. Will meet next week

June 11th,2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz began at 11:02 am.

Meeting began with Professor Ejaz reviewing the website. He gave some notes on the page tabs and time and effort chart. He also told informed us that our project is in need of a final name.

Next, the Professor reviewed the updated block diagram and gave his notes: types of data being recorded need to be specified, and a 4th module needs to be added for the power source. We need to make an Engineering Requirement Table. This will be completed before the next meeting.

Finally the guidelines for the proposal report were discussed. It must be started immediately. The Re-Forestation Bot was officially approved!

Meeting ended at 11:38 am.

June 4th, 2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz began at 11:06 am.

Thomas began the meeting by explaining, after diligent research, that the team no longer wished to pursue the baby monitor project. We could not find a significant way to improve upon the previous semesters work.

Dr. Ejaz reviewed our website and gave us pointers on how to update/refresh it to make it easier to follow. The block diagram and time/effort chart need to be reworked, alongside the progress log. They will be updated before the next meeting.

We settled upon pursuing the garden bot. Although Dr. Ejaz did not approve the project outright, he seemed to be viewing it in a possitive light, saying the scope and idea were good. He instructed us to reach out, and receive consultation from Dr .Javier Garces, Program Director of Horticulture at Valencia. Upon completion of this meeting, Dr. Ejaz said he would render his final verdict.

Meeting ended at 11:47 am.

2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz started at 11:05 am.

Professor Ejaz asked us if we felt confident in our ideas. We presented a PowerPoint with our two best ideas: he garden bot and a baby seat motor. Professor Ejaz complimented the flow diagrams for each idea.

It was then revealed that a senior design group had designed a baby seat monitor in a previous semester (but had had their website removed for copyright purposes). Professor Ejaz gave us access to their design documents to compare against and possibly improve upon.

Before being dismissed Professor Ejaz complimented the ideas and said one needed to be decided upon after, further researching improvements for the baby seat monitor, and the importance of pH levels in tree farm.

may 21st,2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz began at 11:10 AM.

A new idea was proposed, which was the Smart Pet Collar. Soon figured out was very similar to something that was already on the market. So our idea was not very unique.

We then discussed the gardening robot. Professor Ejaz had a few questions that were supposed to be answered by next week. Was it too mechanical engineering related? Also, are there sensors that can be used to measure if a plant needs fertilization?

Professor Ejaz informed the team that we needed to do more research next week to nail down the gardening robot and potentially come with new, well researched ideas to propose.

may 14th, 2020

Meeting with Professor Ejaz began at 11:00 AM.

After looking at the website, three ideas were discussed in detail. The Gardening Robot was deemed to need work because of its potential size/scale as a product for commercial use. The Lawn Mower Robot was deemed to need work because it was previously done by students in Fall 2018 (would need to improve upon their idea). The Smart Fridge was liked, but needs heavy research on how to make RFID system autonomous/remove human upkeep.

Professor Ejaz informed the team that the website needed to be updated before the next Thursday meeting.

Meeting ended at 12:01 PM.

To-Do: Ideas Tab, Block Diagrams, and Time & Effort Table. Work on ideas and perform more research.
